PERM Processing Times Have Increased Significantly

On a monthly basis the Department of Labor (DOL) publishes its processing times for various applications.  As of its most recent update on November 26, 2024, the DOL is taking approximately 439 days to process a PERM Labor Certification Application, from the date of submission to certification.

You may track the processing time at: https://flag.dol.gov/processingtimes.

Here is a screenshot of the DOL’s website, with a snippet of the relevant PERM timelines:

These delays in processing time are significant and, as noted, we cannot reach out to the Department of Labor on an individual case until a PERM application has been pending for more than three months beyond the priority date listed.

You may track the status of your individual case by entering the case number at this website: https://flag.dol.gov/case-status-search. If your case status lists “Analyst Review” this means that the case has not yet been adjudicated and is in queue. The Department of Labor will send an e-mail both to our office and the employer when an action has been taken on your case. It is our policy to notify you within one (1) business day of any notice received in your case. And so if you have not heard from us it is likely that we do not have an update to provide.

We understand and share your frustration at the lengthy PERM processing timelines and will provide timely updates to you on your case as they become available.
